We are excited to announce the Sparks High School Rail City Classic and are hoping you will join us! This December 27-30th, a 8-12 team tournament will begin with pool play and end with a championship game based on pool rankings.(4 games guaranteed).

Tournament Rules
1. Cost Per Team: $500
● Checks made payable to: Sparks High Boys Basketball
● Sent by 12/10/22 via mail unless otherwise agreed upon:

2. Deadline to Register: 11/31/22

● Registrants are limited to the first 12 teams.
 
3. For the 8 team tournament, crossover games will be based on two pools determined by:
○ Standing in Pool, then by
○ Overall record, then by;
○ Highest point total scored, then by;
○ Least points allowed, then by;
○ Coin Flip
 
4. For a 12-team tournament, There will be two three team pools for the big school bracket and two three team pools for the small school bracket. Teams will play each team in their bracket once with a random assigned crossover game against the other bracket.
Tournament championship games will be determined by
○ Best Record in Pool Play, then by,
○ Best overall Record, then by,
○ Most points scored, then by,
○ Least points allowed, then by,
○ Coin Flip
 
5. To prevent league play, pools will be created to avoid facing league opponents, to the
extent possible. This is not guaranteed in the crossover game. Pools will be created
based on school size. We will have two “Big Schools” (Five A or equivalent) and two
“Small Schools” (Three A or smaller). We will have the 1st seed from the Big School
Pools play for the championship of the “Big Schools” and the two 1st seeds from the
“Small School” pools play for the championship.
 
6. Arrive one hour ahead of your first scheduled game to collect tournament information.
 
7. Alert us as soon as possible if you have only one color of jersey so we may plan
accordingly.
● Otherwise, the first team on the schedule wears home and the second team on
the schedule wears away.
 
Game Information:
● Games will not start before their scheduled time.
● Warm-Up: 5 minutes (more if games finish early)
● Quarters: 8 minutes (4 quarters)
● Half-Time: 5 minutes
● Tie-Breaker (if needed): 2 minutes
● Running clock will start when a team is down by 30 points or more and will go back to a stop clock if a team comes within 15 points.

● Individual Day Pass: $7
● Individual Tournament Pass (Dec 27-30): $15
● Family Tournament Pass (Dec 27-30, 4 people max): $50

● Menu: Hotdogs, Nachos, Chili, Chips, Candy, Soda, Gatorade, Water
